1. Be nice to people. It's okay to provide constructive criticism, but there is no need to insult other members. For example, "X major is over-saturated right now. You might have trouble finding a job" is fine. "Your major is dumb. Have fun working in fast food," is not helpful nor appropriate.

So I am planning on applying to Psychology (BA) programs for universities next year (My number one school is University of Guelph btw). I am currently in grade 11 and have to soon choose my courses for next year, I am aware that the only courses for this program that are required are English and 5 other U/M courses. I am here to ask what other courses I should take that will help me when I do make it to university for Psych. I am thinking of taking Bio and a math, but I am not sure if I will really need it as it not a requirement. So will taking bio and math increase my chances of getting in? So if anyone could offer me some advice on what to take based off their own experience or what they've heard about Psych courses? That would be great! Thanks! I'm going to talk about something that happened late in the fall term. I was taking a biology course that required us to do weekly lab experiments. I'm a guy and in the lab, there was a friend of mine who is a girl. She's Chinese and came here from China to study. This was the final week, so it was going to be used as a review session for the final exam. When the door to the laboratory was unlocked, we put on our lab coats and put our backpacks in the lockers outside. But when we went in, the TA told us that lab coats won't be necessary on that day. So everyone went back outside to take off their lab coats. And when my friend got down to put hers in her bag, I noticed she was wearing a thong and her thong was showing from the back of her pants. But I didn't tell her partly because I was too shy and partly because I felt excited. And I could still see it some of the time when we were sitting down in the lab. Now that the term is over, I'm wondering what would've happened if I told her. So girls, how do you thing she would've reacted? And do you think that saying something was the right thing to do?

Hi, I'm in grade 12 and I'm very scared of going into post-secondary.How hard is the transition from high school to post secondary actually is? Some of my teacher said that some people actually fail some of their courses, is it true?
Have you ever had time to hang out with friends and go to some other places than places near the school? Also, how much studying did you have to do to have good marks?
So I noticed Yconic has been getting worse and worse over the past couple months. Links literally don’t work, all the info seems out of data and loads of other problems so I decided to do some Googling and may have found the answer.
It turns out Yconic sold to Canada largest company for polling and market research. I always wondered how much Yconic was selling my data, well now I don’t since it is owned by a company whose only job it seems is to get information from people and sell it to other companies.
So SHAD application is rolling around and I was wondering if it is worth it. Like do Universites actually like this or is it fun at least? Also, do you have to live on campus for SHAD or can you commute there?
Basically, can anyone tell me is SHAD worth it? That is my main question.
I am currently in my first year of engineering at Ryerson University. So far a month at university I thought it would be great for me to leave some comments about the reality of studying in an university. These are in fact, based from SOLELY WHAT I EXPERIENCED AND MANY OF MY FRIENDS IN THEIR FIRST YEAR. If there are disagreements feel free to discuss them.
1) Expect your grade to drastically drop, a lot, in university
2) High school simply does not prepare you well for the transition to university
3) workload depends on what program you are in, but 100% sure your workload will be extremely heavy, A LOT MORE WORK than high school, but totally managable
4) If you cant manage your work load in high school, you will most likely to suffer in university, but depends on what program you are in
Well. Cant list all what I experienced because there are so many of them. If you guys are also in your first year, or upper years feel free to put down what you experienced so we can give a head-up to highschoolers what they should expect.
So I went to a school in grade 9 and changed schools in grade 10 because the new school has the IB program. I'm considering going back to the first school because it's filled with people I grew up with since kindergarden and I feel more at home there. I kind of feel like a stranger at the new school and it's just really not enjoyable.
And I know once we all leave for Uni I won't see my friends then, but I feel like I'm missing out on the high school experience with my best friends, and I usually just feel down when I'm at the new school.
I'm just wondering if I should push forward with the IB program or go to a school where I feel happy and like myself?
Like is it worth going through two more years in a school I don't like just for IB?

Next year in Gr 12 I'm planning to take:
Eng 12, Precal 12, Chem 12, Bio 12, AP Calc, plus 1-2 other easy courses and spares
Do you think my gr 12 year is going to be hard if I take all of these courses? Because I'm wondering if I would have enough time for university application stuff I have too much workload in gr.12 year. Is it better to take some of those in Gr.11 year so I have more room and flexibility in Gr 12 year? If so, I can take french online and take one other Gr. 12 course next semester in gr.11. I'm thinking of taking pre-cal 12 or bio 12.
I'm a grade 11 student in BC and I have some questions about what Gr.12 courses are the easiest to take in Gr.11. I already took chem 11 in gr.10 first semester (had 92%) so I have some extra room to take a grade 12 course.
I'm thinking of studying biochemistry/biology/or chemistry in university.
2 semester - Physics 11, English 11, French 11, Photography 11
I want to take french online and take either precal 12 or biology 12 instead in the second semester. This way I only need to take Chem 12, eng 12, AP cal plus precal 12 or biology 12 in grade 12, depending on what I take in Gr.11.
I want to know how hard and time consuming the courses are because I'm pretty busy with extracurricular activities.
So my questions are
:
1. Do you recommend taking precal 12 or bio 12 in grade 11? Or is it better to take it in Gr.12?
2. Which subject is harder (in terms of understanding the material)? Precal 12 or Bio 12?
3. Which subject is more time consuming?
4. Do you recommend taking bio 11 prior to taking bio 12? (it isn't required in BC)
I'm a grade 11 student in BC and I'm thinking about taking some AP courses in Gr.12.
My school's offering 3 AP courses - AP Physics, AP Statistics, AP Calculus.
I'm planning to take AP Calc but I'm wondering if I should also take other APs.
I want to know how rigorous the AP courses are and how much time is needed to prep for the AP exam.
From my friends and other students, I've heard that taking AP courses help with the university application. But I'm wondering if that's true. Does it really help if you take many APs?
I also want to know what happens if you take the AP course but not take the exam. Do you not get recognized as much as a student who took the exam?
I'm a Ryerson graduate (October 2017) that majored in Professional Communication (ProCom) and wrote the LSAT in June 2017. Aside from holding 3 internships through the last 3 years of my degree, I also worked as a mentor for first year students and in student recruitment for my program faculty. In my last semester of school, in the summer of 2017, I was hired full time as the Marketing Communications Coordinator for the Toronto based architecture firm Sweeny&Co. As of 2018, I work as a Marketing Specialist for AIR MILES.

Hello there, I know this discussion is not related to anything about school or scholarships, but I really need some advice on how to fix an iPod that has water damage.
The iPod is still fully functional, except that the water evaporated behind the backlit screen and I believe some LED lights burned out. Should I continue charging the iPod on a daily basis or would that be dangerous (considering short circuits and stuff alike)?
Also, does soaking the iPod in uncooked white rice overnight help?
Do u think I have a chance of getting accepted into McGill, U of T or UBC for sciences with grades of 89 in bio 11, 83 in chem 11, 77 in eng 11, 90 in band, 88 in precalc11, 92 in socials 11, 94 in photography (all final)? Overall average is 88%.
I understand that 12th grade is important but I heard and read in the university websites that they look at a couple grade 11 marks as well.
I was wondering about universities and how their system works, like for high school, for example, we just go there from 9-4, as its set, but how does the system work in university

Hey so with course selection coming up I just wanted to know when are the best days/times to take classes. I know the general idea is to avoid 8ams and classes on Mondays and Fridays but I was wondering if there were any other times. LIke would 4 pm class on a Friday be a bad idea? etc..
